Our review

If we’re talking about the very best instruments, Koa would certainly pop out as THE wood for ukuleles. It’s wildly popular amongst Hawaiian made ukuleles. It’s aesthetically pleasing to look at with its lovely curls and often striped pattern. In fact, this wood’s not just used on Ukuleles. Even on high-end furniture, koa is a top choice.

✨ The Bondi Ripple Koa series utilizes the wood for the top, back, and sides of the body, which provides a bit of an emphasized mid-tone. The neck uses mahogany for tuning stability and easy access across the ebony fretboard. The bridge also uses the same ebony material to give it a uniform look and a strong response.

🎸 The finish on the Ripple Koa series is gloss to accentuate the pattern from all possible angles, giving it a breathtaking look. Add the indigo blue pearl binding and inlaid headstock to complete the premium look and feel. This series is clearly one of the best at Bondi Ukuleles, no wonder it attracts much interest from budding recording musicians too.

Tenor Koa Uke

Delivered to Charleston South Carolina in 4 days. The instrument ships with all kinds of neat accessories. The fit and finish is flawless. It is properly set up, and no sharp edges to fool with. The koa wood seems to glow and change color with the light. It's a fine instrument and easy to play. Good value for the price. I will order again with complete confidence. Just a good deal. Thanks.

Thanks Stephen, means a lot to hear those kind words. ❤️❤️

What a great uke! First of all, I was shocked as to how fast it made the journey from Australia to New Jersey—only 4 days (and during COVID no less!). The uke was packaged carefully and played beautifully right out of the box (once the strings settled and consistently held their tune). The frets are nice and smooth, very playable, and the tone is beautiful. There is nice resonance even high on the fretboard. Also, I love how you see different patterns in the koa grain depending on the angle of the lighting.. I probably spent about 10 minutes just moving back and forth in different lighting. This is my first mail-order uke and I am certainly not disappointed!

Bondi Ripple Koa Tenor - this tenor is smaller and more like a concert model

Nice construction but made for a person who likes the specs of a narrow width neck and a smaller body. This does not make sense for a tenor size ukulele because most players who choose a tenor size do so in part for the larger specs that more comfortably fit a larger person’s hands. A 38mm neck and standard tenor size body are a better size for a tenor ukulele. Otherwise, why not just play a concert model.

Great Sounding Starter Kit

Bought a similar kit from another company for my wife that was nearly the same price and not only is the Bondi Uke a much higher quality and tone the kit was much more complete.
